Use of Credit Repair Sample Letters

When I started with my credit repair 13 years ago, one of the first things I had difficult with were finding solid credit repair sample letters. The reason is simple. The laws frequently change, and with changing laws, the letters need to adapt. The internet has become an amazing place for all things do-it-yourself, but it does provide a problem when obtaining information.

Credit Repair Sample Letters. Too Much or Too Little?

One of the major problems with most of the sample letters are the additional of unneeded legal information. Some letters will make requirements that are simply not needed. Why do they do this? The logic initially when the laws changed were to confuse the collecting agencies or credit reporting agencies in hopes they would remove the information. To make this clear, I know this still works from time to time, but over the years the collection agencies have caught wind to these, and in turn, have created their own loopholes in the laws to impact your credit score, such as calling themselves factoring companies and reporting late payments.

Tips to Writing a Good Letter

  • A great letter is to the point, professional and succinct.
  • Keep it simple, stupid.
  • Make sure you reference the correct statues of the FCRA or FDCPA.
  • Do not sign any letter, you don’t want them fabricating evidence against you.
  • Spell check.
  • Don’t threaten unless you have cause.

While many people like to create their own letters, some search the internet for credit repair sample letters. Be careful! Make sure you use the templates provided, but personalize the letter to ensure your letter achieves the most success possible.
