It was 60 degrees this weekend, and no better place to spend it than Wrigley to watch the Cubs win two!
A few things I noticed this weekend while slumming (ha) about the Northside:
- It only takes one week to fall in love with a player. I have never seen ovations for a player like I have for Fukedome this week. Everyone had Fukedome shirts and they chanted his name like he was a god. I am all about supporting the home team, but how about we give this guy a little longer than a week before annointing him King Cub
- While standing on Waveland with the ballhawks, you would be amazed at how many people walk by professing to be experts at everything thing Cub. Each time you wanna smack them in the face.
- 3 hours early is still not early enough to avoid douchebags.
- I cannot believe how many people pay $30 or more to park when you can park on Clark less than a mile north of the ball park.
- The knowledge the average fan at Wrigley has about the Cubs is appaulling. His name is Ryan Theriot. And, oh yeah, Fukedome has a first name. Do you know it? Well, if you do, that was better than the 10 people I asked who were wearing his shirt.
Oh, I could go on and on.
But it is still a very exciting place to be when Kerry Wood gets that final out and the worst song in sports starts to play.
Go Cubs Go!
