How To Remove American Collection Corporation (ACC) From Credit Report

Pay For Delete with American Collection Corporation

American Collection Corporation removal. As many of you know, Man Vs Credit strongly advocates the good will approach to removing collections. Pay for deletes are nice when you can achieve them, but they aren’t as easy as they used to be. American Collection Company removal

However, I did have some early success with the pay for delete approach with ACC, short for American Collection Corporation. They were among the small handful I was able to have a pay for delete with.

American Collection Corporation is based out of Schaumburg, Illinois. They seem to deal primarily out of the midwest, but I have received a handful of emails from people on the east coast. They appear to have license to collect in all fifty states. The account in question was related to an account I had with a bank. I had a bounced check way back in 2005 with TCF Bank, and it went to collections. The statute of limitations was up on this debt, but the credit reporting time period was not going to expire until 2013. It first reported in 2008 under American Collection Corporation.

I decided to offer a pay for delete in full, in hopes they would bite. It wasn’t the most damaging collection on my file, but having it removed would be nice. The letter was very short and sweet. Essentially, I just advised them I would pay in full if American Collection Corporation would delete immediately. I did not admit the debt was mine, however, it was.

The letter I sent to American Collection Corporation was responded to within a week, advising that they would accept my proposal. I called their number, made payment over the phone (I understand many people advise sending certified funds, but I felt comfortable enough paying by phone) and it was deleted within days.
