I have been reading the Chicago Sun-Times for a good 15 years now.
I have never met someone more negative than sportswriter Jay Mariotti. For example, in his column today, aside from riding Moises Alou for apologizing to Bartman 4 years later, he had to throw in the jab ‘unpopular’ closer Kerry Wood.
After ONE game, he is now unpopular? I asked every single Cub fan I know if they dislike Kerry Wood.
Not a single person said yes.
He feels he speaks on behalf of Chicago but he doesn’t, he never has. People read his column for the same reason they watch Britney Spears self distruct.
Jay Mariotti is a train wreck. His negativity is why his column is ‘popular’. I understand he is an excellent writer. And I don’t mind his television appearances.
But this was one column too many. After 15 years and 1023 negitive columns, I am pledging no more support for Jay Mariotti!
