Every Week, we will be featuring a Chicago artist that is making waves in the music industry. Chicago has an eclectic group of musicans, and we will feature artists every single week. The first artist to be featured is Inept, a 5 peice rock band formed originally in the Chicago suburb of Plainfield, Illinois.Inept started in the early 2000’s and built their fanbase the old fashioned way, with good music and an excellent live show. Within a year of forming, they were bringing large amounts of fans to such reputable Chicago venues as the House of Blues and Metro. Their songs became staples on the local rock shows hosted by
Q101, former rock station 94.7 the Zone, and on many local college radio programs. After years of working the Chicago music scene, they expanded out across the country, playing on national tours such as Warped Tour, and sharing the stage with numerous bands such as Fall Out Boy, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Trapt, and Alterbridge among many. They achieved the success all on a series of self-funded EPs, without the help of a full length cd. Their grassroots approach to touring, promotion and marketing has made them a hit with fans and bands across the nation. In February 2008, they released their debut record to stellar reviews and excellent sales. In March 2008, their record was picked up and distributed in Japan where their fanbase is steadily growing. They recently returned home and played a packed House of Blues show.Check out Inept at
