Dan Wade returns with his first new song in years.
The Return of the Wade
It wasn’t that long ago where Dan Wade was running the show in Chicago, winning awards and garnering praise. After a nearly a decade of playing guitar in the band Treaty of Paris, Wade split off to forge his own path. The result was 4 EPs in a span of a year, a stint as guitarist for The Spill Canvas, a slew of high profile gigs, and critical acclaim.
With a quick and impressive catalog in tow, Wade defined himself as a local stalwart and firmly established as a reliable act. Annual stops at local festivals and the occasional gig opening for national acts kept him relevant. In addition, stints playing guitar for Ryan Powers and the Secret Weapons as well as Punk is Dad kept him that much more visible. Dan Wade never really left, he just wasn’t releasing music. Something had to give.
After a short break, a rebranding from Daniel to Dan and some time to reflect, Wade is back with his first new studio release in years. Gone or Still Going is a straight forward rock track that lyrically deals with something we all eventually do, grow up, and the battle that encompasses. Clocking in under 3 minutes with no let up, the song is powered by strong vocals, stronger drums and the guitar interplay that has come to define Wade since the early 2000s.
On Instagram, Wade promised this would be the first of multiple new songs and releases. If this first track is any indication, 2022 could be the second Summer of Wade.
